Cranford Nix "Drinkin' With Some Angels" CD
Cranford Nix has become somewhat of an underground cult hero following his untimely death at 33 years of age. He had a knack for writing catchy tunes as exemplified by his work with his band The Malakas and his solo recordings, coming across as a junkie Paul Westerberg with a touch of GG Allin's candor. If you're not hep to the world of Cranford Nix, do yourself a favor and seek out his music online.
This here is a soundboard recording of Cranford performing an acoustic set at the Hamtramck Pub in the Detroit area in the summer of 1990. Allegedly, this recording sat in a shoebox for 30 years until the fine folks at Detroit's I-94 Recordings gave it an official release. Cranford's personality really shines through on these tracks, and his ever-growing following will not be disappointed.
